In the past few months, I’ve been very lazy, it’s uncontrollable. It was difficult to tell myself to be diligent during my unemployment period. I would sleep all day for many months and I didn’t know what to do to motivate myself to be active. I would wake up the afternoon, eat and go back to sleep. This cycle continues on and on. Just yesterday I finished reading a self-help book called The Power of Your Subconscious Mind. I’m not a bookworm and I barely ever read any books in my younger years. I’m more of a movie watcher than a book reader. The only series I ever finished reading was The Twilight Series, which many people say the writings were poorly written. My vocabulary isn’t huge. I completed school up into college. My first job was successful, but I got very sick after some stranger at work put something in my drink. After that, I job hopped for many years until I stopped working in late 2018. Just lately, I motivated myself to start reading as I have a lot of free time at home since I’m unemployed. Last night, I had the idea of creating a YouTube video book review and I finished doing that today. It wasn’t perfect but I knew I accomplished something small. That was all that matters. I did something different out of the ordinary.
Ways to get out of laziness:
1. Pick up a self-help book and read at least four pages each day. Don’t force yourself to read a lot if you don’t enjoy reading it. Just make it a habit to read a little bit every day.
2. Buy at least five books and store them on your shelf. Find genres that interest you. I would recommend self-help because these books will change your thoughts and habits.
3. Write a review of the book or record a video about what you think of the book.
4. Set goals to accomplish this year. Such as finding a job and keeping that job.
5. Eat healthy meals and include one sweet drink with your meal. Why a sugary drink? So that you can wake up from feeling sluggish. Don’t drink too much. Just one full cup is enough. Also, eat enough food each day. It will prevent you from feeling lazy. Too little food causes tiredness.
