Why I Keep Writing Without Much Website Traffic

Why do I keep writing even though I barely have traffic?

I’ve just come back from taking long breaks from writing in my blog. I like to keep writing because I get to practice saying anything I want. I’m not a great writer, and I don’t want that to stop me from updating my blog.

In my opinion, WordPress is still a good place to start and showcase my works of art. Yes – I don’t have enough art to display at the moment. I’ve taken much of a long break.

Right now, I’m accepting commissions for custom paintings. The size will be 30×30 cm. The price is $200. This is considered a reasonable price. Most artists charge more than $200. Shipping is included in the price. This is one way for me to make an earning since I get rejected from most jobs I apply for. If I did get accepted, there are many challenges ahead of me. Paying for deposit, rent, and finding ways to commute to work. If you want to support me, let me know in the comments and we can go from there.

Back To Making Art

It has been three months since I made a painting. I was waiting for inspiration to come to me. Some artists don’t do that. Their ideas and imaginations are endless. They can come up with something all the time. I experienced a creative block and I had to just stop pressuring myself to do it. My ideas have come back. I’m aiming to paint one painting per month since I don’t want to rush through it. I enjoyed painting so much last year when I painted for the first time. The first painting was purely experimental and I actually liked what I did for my first try. I’m going back to it again this week or next week. It will take some planning.

Coronavirus Creates a New World

I’ve been going outside for quite a lot this month. What I noticed at many shopping malls, mall workers are more sanitary with keeping eating utensils and napkins inside a small clear plastic. It’s very impressive the actions people take to keep the numbers of this pandemic low. Social distancing became a new thing of the future. Stickers are put on everything, floors, tables, glass windows. I enjoyed my time walking around a mall called Central. Quiet and clean. This epidemic and social distancing isn’t a bad thing. It just teaches people to be aware of germs. When entering the doorway, scanning QR codes or signing in is always required at convenient stores like 7-Eleven and shopping malls.

What I’m saying is, Coronavirus isn’t entirely bad. Yes – People die from it, but we can always stay positive and look on the bright side that, if we wear protection, we can still enjoy life outside. There’s no need for quarantine all the time. Not saying to not be quarantined, but we should go out sometimes and see how much the world has changed.

Is It Wrong To Be Unproductive?

Image taken from https://news.yahoo.com/sleeping-too-much-too-little-linked-increased-heart-114755710.html

Many times I would feel guilty for being unproductive. My definition of being unproductive is not doing anything useful, not making money, no projects and not making an earning. In society today, most of us feel that we have value when we work self-employed or being employed at a company. That’s the definition of productivity for most people. Work a lot, make lots of money, stay busy all the time and make more money.

Does it make you worthless when you’re unproductive?

I don’t think so. When we are not doing anything useful, that’s the time to be thinking about doing something new, planning our future and do things for fun. I don’t like to take life too seriously that I’m not using my time wisely. Who’s going to judge me? No one. It’s all in my head. As long as I make a goal to do something every day, whether it be taking a walk outside, breathing in fresh air versus sitting around the house all day and not doing anything at all.

Some useful things I think I can do daily whether I’m going to do them or not: read, make art, draw, write, listen to music, practice singing, watch movies and tv shows, chat with someone online, create something, etc.

I Purchased a Virtual Toy!

There’s a 90’s toy, Tamagotchi. I never got to finish taking care of my virtual pet when I was a child. I first purchased one from the Salvation Army. My mother got irritated with this toy; it makes beeping sounds when it needs attention. Sometimes it needs something while I was sleeping. When I didn’t respond to it, the beeping continued. She threw it in the trash because she said I wasn’t “responsible.” I was so sad I had to part with this cute toy. Since then I never purchased another one until today. I ordered it online and I was surprised to see the price was low. Now I’ll be able to play with it all the time without any issues.

How Do I Live Without A Real Income?

Image taken from https://www.entrepreneur.com/slideshow/300302

I’ve been without a real job for more than a year. Is it possible to live without an income? Yes, if someone is supporting you and if you’re not a spender. Very possible.

The last time I made an income was when a kind lady bought my first painting through here (WordPress). Since then, I haven’t had a job or a real income. I actually thought I was going to become a painter. Sadly, all of that changed. Another time, one of my relatives gave me some money and another relative paid for my bills.

Just because I’m not making steady income now, it doesn’t mean it’ll be like this forever. I’ll eventually work for myself by starting a food vendor.

At first, before I came to this conclusion, I wanted to become a full-time artist, but since my artwork doesn’t sell, I decided to do something that would actually work. I still don’t want to give up on this dream job, but I decided to go on a hiatus anyway. I will start again when I’m feeling it.

What are your thoughts about this subject? Do you make a steady income working a regular job or are you self-employed? Let me know in the comments!

What’s The Purpose Of Social Media?

Image taken from https://makeawebsitehub.com/best-social-media-management-tools/

The purpose of having social media is to connect with people from all over the world, showcase your work, post your content, advertise your brand, your product and to socialize with all kinds of people that you can’t meet in person. Social media is a very useful tool for millions of people who are successful with selling their products, but being on it without followers, likes and comments can be boring.

I mostly use social media for leisure. I tried to sell something, but never had much success with it. I use Facebook to connect with old friends and acquaintances and Twitter for content updates and to tweet random thoughts. I also like to browse on Etsy to see what kinds of products people are selling. I also just got into using YouTube this year. I enjoy watching certain YouTubers like Tornado Thien (she was the first YouTuber I ever watch), Happy D. Artist (she does all the art tutorial with timelapses and voiceovers) and Ellen Brenneman Studio (she gives all the advice and suggestions about selling your art and prints).

Creating your brand takes a lot of effort, knowledge, creativity and time. I never actively put much blood and sweat into making a successful brand. With making an art channel on YouTube, it takes real skills to draw and paint perfectly, then it’s the video editing that’s the most challenging. I believe if we work towards building a successful YouTube channel, it’s very possible to gain subscribers, but I just don’t have the drive to go through all of that work.

My Mental Illness

After developing a mental illness at the age of 23 years old, and I’ve been with this illness for 6 years, I’m finally more recovered after sticking with my prescribed medications. I had several revelations in those years and in the present day, I’m not hearing many voices anymore. I still need to be on my medications, as recommended by psychiatrists or else it might recur again. I was told it’s necessary to take this medication for most of my life; I haven’t been without it since 6 years ago. I’m glad now, family problems are going away.

I’m trying to stick to working on my art and not quitting, but I can only paint without any distractions. Artists on both Instagram and Twitter inspire me to continue this new hobby. I don’t normally have a hobby; I just found it last month.
